The Braintree DPW Engineering Division is a staff of six, consisting of the staff civil engineer, two engineering technicians, the clerk who manages our office, the Town Engineer and the Assistant Town Engineer.

Our days for the most part are spent on planning, designing, administering, and answering questions on the various roadway improvement projects, on finding ways to get additional work done, and on improving efficiencies through GIS, etc.
Assisting other DPW and Town departments with their daily work and with special projects utilizes the next biggest block of our time.

For the remainder we assist patrons with inquiries regarding pending public or private projects,flood insurance, parcel zoning, traffic controls, property line records, town land, building numbers, abutters’ lists, drainage and a multitude of other subjects.

Many of the services that once required visits to our offices at Town Hall are now offered at home or work to BELD.NET subscribers via the Town’s on-line Geographic Information System (GIS.)
