The Open Space Committee was established by the Conservation Commission to develop an Open Space and Recreation Plan for the town of Braintree.



The Committee is focused on:
• increasing residents’ awareness of the town’s natural resources
• restoring trails on town-owned land
• working with the Community Preservation Committee to identify land for purchase by the town

Volunteer Opportunities:

Designing/Painting a Conservation Land Sign - This sign is on South St. Conservation Land and is visible from South St. It is on the right as you approach Holbrook. The sign has rusted to the point that the lettering is no longer visible. The Commission is looking for someone to come up with a proposal for what information the sign should include (it is fairly large) and then scrap and repaint the sign with stencils or whatever else is necessary to create a neat and professional looking sign.
