Sunset Lake is a scenic and relaxing facility conveniently located on Safford St. (off Franklin Street/Route 37) in South Braintree. During the summer months, you can enjoy public bathing, sunbathing and fishing plus, beginning in late June, our Sunset Concert Series each Tuesday night at 6 p.m. featuring live entertainment with a different band each week to appeal to a variety of tastes. There's also a play area with apparatus for the kids to enjoy. During spring and fall, Sunset Lake is a great spot for a lunch date or for catching up on your reading in a quiet setting. There is also an annex garaging facility for Braintree Emergency Management Agency. The lake opens to the public at 10 a.m. and closes at dusk daily. Please use the beachfront parking lot as there is no on-street parking on Safford Street. No motorized boats allowed but canoes, sail craft and rowboats are permitted. The lake is staffed with Red Cross certified lifeguards during the summer months.
